Kudy Mahanty Auditorium - Interior View
KMCO Trust Settlers Rupa Mahanty, Niroop Mahanty signed a MOU with JEM Foundation for construction of Kudy Mahanty Auditorium in premises of Jusco School, Kadma, on Friday Feb 17, 2017.
This Auditorium will be of world class standards equipped with state of the art facilities and a seating capacity of 300, built in the loving memory of Kudy Mahanty, daughter of Rupa Mahanty & Niroop Mahanty and will enable hundreds of children in Jamshedpur many of who at present do not have the facility in their own schools to showcase their talent.
Kudy Mahanty Auditorium - Exterior View
With the thought of "Don't give to get rather give to inspire others to give", Mrs Rupa Mahanty spoke about how children in many schools display their flair/talent in open air, under the scorching sun or maybe just under a tin shed.
This Auditorium when ready will help transform their confidence level to maybe soaring new heights. Mrs Mahanty also said that out of the 3 parts of anyone's life which is Learning, Earning and Returning, the part of returning is the most important and this is what inspires her and her husband to do what they do best, giving back to the community they dwell in.
MEDICAL
KMCO has reimbursed the medical treatment of several
children particularly those whose parents work in the unorganized
sector; children of rickshaw pullers, auto drivers, domestic help
and other such who have no cover through government or other aid.
For example:
Orthopedic patient: Baby
Naina had never walked from birth. KMCO sponsored her
surgical treatment whereby both her knees were required
surgical intervention. Today Naina walks!
Cancer
patient: Diabkar, the 6-year old having blood cancer since
April 2001 is under treatment at Meherbhai Tata Memorial
Hospital. KMCO extended financial assistance for the
child’s treatment.
KMCO
together with FPAI-SP (Family Planning Association of India
– Singhbhum Project) conducted Free Health Check -up
Camps during March & May 2004 at Harisunderpur, Murgaguttu,
Salampather and Raimara tribal villages under Gamharia
Block of Singhbhum West District, Jharkhand. Around 170

EDUCATION
KMCO sponsors children’s education. For example,

she cannot afford Mary’s education, KMCO
sponsors her education in the School of Hope, Jamshedpur.
KMCO granted financial help to Suyash Sohanpal
studying in Standard V in Carmel Junior College,
Jamshedpur. Suyash is doing exceptionally well in

"Scholarship in

instituted in the School where Kudy used to study. The
total expenditure of a child is supported by KMCO.
The first beneficiary is a little girl whose father is
a security guard in a nearby school.
KMCO contributes towards children’s
development thru’ Sharda Kalyan Sangh, an
organization in Midnapore that encourages village
children to excel and continue higher education in
professional fields.

SOCIAL SERVICE
Water has become increasingly a scarce resource.
Realising this, KMCO committed donating water
pumps every year for next 10 years in a needy village
preferably near a school. The second water pump was
donated on 21st June 2004.
KMCO
has also offered to sponsor water harvesting in two
nearby villages.

Project MADHUR MUSKAN
Our recent partnership with YMCA Jamshedpur has been most encouraging. Project "MADHUR MUSKAN" has enabled us to alleviate the condition of the abandoned children who take refuge at the Tatanagar Railway Station. Thru this endeavour, 35 children are given hot midday meals, basic education, health checkups, and much needed counselling. The Trustees of KMCO are very appreciative of the spontaneous support they have received from donors towards this effort.
In keeping with the KMCO motto "to put a smile on every child's face" KMCO recently organized a zoo visit and Picnic in the Jubilee Park Jamshedpur. A first for the children, the day was joyous both for the children, as well as the organizers.
